Native Wetland Plants
Juncus effusus
Soft Rush
Soft rush is a striking perennial wetland plant that grows up to 3' tall in full sun to part shade. The bright green cylindrical stems are fairly soft and taper to a bristle and remain green well into the winter. This clump forming perennial adds a vertical accent like no other and with its deep root system, it helps to stabilize pond shores, stream banks, and vegetated swales.
