Eleocharis acicularis
Least Spikerush
Least Spike Rush also known as Needle Spike Rush is a perennial with smooth round solid stems which form an oval spike flower on the tips. Just under 1' tall, it can be grown individually or in nice tight clusters along shorelines or shallow water forming an ankle deep almost turf-like mat. A pioneering wetland species that handles water fluctuations quite well making it ideally suited for ponds and basins that undergo large draw downs.
