Iris fulva
Copper Iris
Arching bright green leaves growing from shallowly rooted compact rhizomes that can form large clumps makes this the perfect plant for moist to wet soils in full sun but also tolerating part shade. Also grows well in sites with wet clayey soils. May be grown in up to 6” of standing water making it suitable to use in water gardens, bog gardens, ponds & stream margins, or moist low spots. Showy copper, red or orange, drooping petals on showy copper colored flowers grow off a slender stalk just slightly taller than the sword-like foliage. Attracts hummingbirds.
