River Bulrush is a rhizomatous species that forms very large colonies rather quickly. Its thick stems stand 5-7’ tall and blooms in late July to mid August. Scirpus fluviatilis provides excellent nesting habitat for water fowl and cover for spawning fish. It thrives in full sun to part shade.
