Scirpus tabermontanii
Soft Stem Bulrush
Soft Stem Bulrush is a rhizomatous species that forms dense colonies and provides excellent cover for water fowl and spawning fish. It grows 4-5’ tall and blooms in June-July. Scirpus tabernaemontani is commonly used for soil stabilization around pond edges and nutrient and heavy metal up take in storm water basins. It is an all-around great plant for the ornamental garden as an accent plant.
