Green Headed Coneflower grows in moist soils in rich woodlands, thickets or along streams and next to ponds in full sun to part shade. Although it tolerates hot and humid summers quite well, it will not do well in severe drought conditions. This native perennial typically grows 3-4' tall with light green leaves and has daisy-like flowers with refluxed yellow rays attached to dome shaped green center disks throughout its long mid to late summer bloom period.
