Sarracenia leucophylla

White Trumpet

The White Trumpet Pitcher Plants range extends form the southeastern corner of Mississippi across the Florida panhandle and into Southwest Georgia. S. leucophylla is one of the taller pitcher plants with foliage reaching almost 3’. The White Trumpet is truly striking in the full moon light of summer and fall. The flowers of S. leucophylla are bright red and emerge in mid spring on tough stems that reach 2-3’ in height. Spring pitcher production is relatively few but come the fall S. leucophylla really shows off with a crop of many tall beauties right thru frost and into early November! S. leucophylla is an elegant and striking plant as a focal point in the bog garden. Hardy for us in Pennsylvania zone 6.
