Cyperus papyrus, Giant papyrus, is commonly known as being a member of the sedge family.  The Cyperus species of water plants are grown for their showy firework-like sprays of fronds with palm like aesthetics. Cyperus papyrus, commonly known as Giant papyrus is a bold addition to any water feature as it can grow from 5-12' tall with heads reaching 12" across in the right conditions. Earning its name from the Egyptians who valued it as a paper source (papyrus).  Giant papyrus is hardy in zones 8-11.
